Shawn Williams recently spoke with Mark Mullen of Jiu-Jitsu Times to discuss how he got started in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Like many children of the 1980s, Shawn was influenced by martial arts movies and watching boxing on television as child in Indiana. After training in karate for a number of years, he watched Royce Gracie choke out much larger and athletic opponents in the early UFC events he viewed on VCR tapes.
